What about External Demosaicing ?
[ Demosaicing is the process of back-calculating RGB color intensity
for every pixel using the adjoining single-color-per-pixel sensor data
which was filtered by the Bayer mask. ]
- The first image shows the 40D camera-RAW data processed by the
40D's internal demosaicing software when generating JPEG images.
- The second image shows the results of the DxO Optics algorithms
when processing camera-RAW data to produce corrected RAW images.
- Results are not dramatic, but improvement is visible.
